Chess Sets:
Are beautifully made with contrasting color of domestic and exotic hardwoods. Each piece of wood is hand picked for its color and grain pattern, then milled and hand fit together, taking over 100 hours to complete. The result is a true heirloom quality set that can be passed down for generations to come.

Chess Pieces:
The King is 4 1/4 inches tall with a base of 1 1/4 inches square.
All pieces have felt bottoms and (other than the pawns) have weighted bases. They are scroll sawed in 3 dimensions by Master Scrollsawer, Howard Oatman, located here in Colorado.

|
Board:
Each 2 inch square is a full 3/4" thick, connected by tight fitting Hickory spines. This permits each square to expand and contract individually.
Then the entire board is set into a double tongue and groove on the apron.

|
Base:
The base has two drawers and each chess piece has it's own compartment with a fitted matching contour resting area. To help prevent scratches the entire inside of each drawer is covered with royal blue velveteen.

 |
|
Finish:
No stains or dyes are used. Just seven (7) coats of clear lacquer, hand rubbed between each coat. This allows the true beauty of the wood to show.

|
Wood Species:
The apron and base are Rosewood. The playing field and chess pieces are made with contrasting hard woods to be original and unique.
Over all dimensions are 18 1/2 x 18 1/2 inches x 5 inches high. Approximate weight is 15 pounds.
